As someone who isn’t Korean, you may be wondering why on earth I’m attracted to K-Dramas. According to this link, “The global audience for Korean music and Korean television is exploding across Asia and is even spreading to Europe and North America”.
For me, apart from drooling over broad shouldered men groomed to perfection, admiring the elegant women coated with dramatic flare, evocative grace, impeccable clothing and glossy hairstyles, I’m mostly intrigued by the sentimentality of simple stories and easy-to-follow episodes.
I love the engaging titles, characters, the dreamy music and modern location settings with elements of the “real world”, giving hope that no matter how unfair, unjust and difficult our world is, virtue, goodness and positivity will always prevail.
With its endless world of possibilities and twist in plots, K-Dramas can be thought-provoking, meaningful with inspiring messages whilst also giving us escapism and joy, even in the most simple of things like eating.
Im not an expert on K-Dramas but I’ve listed my chosen top 5 dramas to show you what I’m initially attracted to, although I may end up liking different ones if you ask me next year. 😉
This blog is for anyone who might be interested in seeing their first K-Drama to look for recommendations or indeed those who are well accustomed to K-Dramas already.
For those who know a lot about K-Dramas, I’d be grateful for any recommendations in the comments section below. (I’m always on the lookout for more K-Dramas that take me away into a world of captivating scenes where the stars overcome obstacles and inspire us to think differently…or dramas that just wisp us away into into a world of happiness). ❣️
Here is my top 5 list of K-Dramas. Each link will explain what I like most about these 5 soaps. Hope you enjoy the recommendations if you watch them 😊.
- Let’s Eat
- I need Romance
- Left Handed Wife
- Crash Landing on You
- It used to be I Need Romance 2, but I have reserved this spot for something else I might enjoy later after watching more dramas. I’m open to recommendations. 🙂
Overall, watching Korean Dramas takes me away into another realm.
On a bad or tiring day, for one moment (maybe an hour at the end of the day), I can switch off, escape and be comforted with a good story-line to put myself to rest.
So what are you waiting for? Put your feet up, pour a glass 🍷or warm a cup ☕, sit back and enjoy the show! 📺🎭
Thank you for reading. Kamzamida! 🙏🙋
